FG declares April 7 Police Day

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration has declared April 7 as National Police Day.

Vice president Kashim Shettima disclosed this on Monday night, in Abuja during the inaugural award and commendations event organized by the Nigerian Police Force.

Shettima, while delivering a speech titled “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force” on behalf of the President, he noted that despite the immense security challenges, the resilience of its citizens is fueled by the unmatched dedication of the police force.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to modernize and professionalize the Nigeria Police Force, aligning it with the nation’s values and aims.

Among the extensive reforms implemented are investments in training and capacity-building, targeted at equipping officers with the necessary skills and expertise to tackle contemporary policing challenges effectively.

The Vice President further pledged government support in enhancing equipment and technology to bolster the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
