Explosion in Ibadan: Bodija locals fear for their missing neighbors

About nine persons, according to the Bodija Estate Residents Association in Oyo State, are reportedly still unaccounted for following Tuesday’s penultimate explosion at Adeyi in Bodija, the state capital of Ibadan.

Five individuals lost their lives, 77 were injured to varied degrees, and 58 houses were damaged in the explosion that shook Ibadan’s Dejo Oyelese Street, according to various news outlets. This alarm was expressed by BERA President Muyiwa Bamgbose during a conversation with news reporters at No. 18 Arigidi Street, Bodija, Ibadan.

“It’s now more towards eight or nine (persons) that have been missing,” stated Bamgbose. We are trying to account for each house individually, using the street map we brought with us, so that we can obtain precise numbers. You should be concerned if someone was spotted yesterday, and you are unable to locate him today.
