The Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS is meeting at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja for the 63rd Ordinary Summit.
President Bola Tinubu, whose tenure as Chairman ends on July 9, opened the 63rd Ordinary Summit at around 1 p.m. with an address.
He thanked the West African leaders for their support over the past year.
Tinubu also welcomed Senegal’s President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, attending for the first time since his April inauguration.
A new leader is expected to be chosen to steer ECOWAS for the next year.
