Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, says the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage will reach a figure by Friday.
He stated this after the committee’s five-hour meeting on Thursday.
Uzodinma, who spoke with newsmen denounced the news making rounds that the FG has proposed ₦105,000 as the minimum wage.
He, however promised workers to expect a figure after Friday’s meeting.
The meeting had the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu; Minister of Labour, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha; representatives of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation as well as the Head of Service of the Federation in attendance as representatives of the Nigerian Government.
President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero; and his counterpart in the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo; were part of the representatives of the Organized Labour.
