Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has revealed that Air Peace will commence flights to-and-fro Abuja-London in no distant time.
He stated this when appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Thursday.
“Just yesterday (Wednesday), I approved Air Peace for the Abuja-London route, not only Lagos-London route. British Airways also come to Abuja. So, let Air Peace block that path and start a war. It’s all for the good of Nigerians,” he said.
Nigerian airline operator Air Peace will commence its Abuja-London route very soon.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Thursday.
Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, the minister said he has given the approval for Air Peace to add Abuja to its London route.
Air Peace recently commenced its Lagos-Gatwick flights, gathering commendation from many Nigerians.
The move, announced by Keyamo, was part of a reciprocal action against the previously lopsided Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, targeted at upholding fairness and equity in international air travel between both nations.
It has been lauded by many stakeholders as a move that will encourage local airlines to commence international flights to profitable routes.
