The first-ever hotel at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (NAIA) main building was unveiled by the federal government on Wednesday.
The hotel’s management has long been a significant player in Nigeria’s aviation industry, and Festus Keyamo, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, said during the hotel’s unveiling that the initiative was one of the ways the industry is improving travelers’ comfort while in flight.
Furthermore, he added: “This is not just a one-off event, it is part of the new management drive and policy direction to collaborate with the private sector to improve passengers’ comfort.
“The CEOs and other managers of the aviation sector are working hard behind the scene to attract private sector into investments in the airport and aviation sector. This is just one of the results. In the next few months to come, we will unveil more packages for you.
“This is part of the vigour that this new management team is bringing into the sector.”
Speaking at the same event, Mrs. Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku, managing director and chief executive of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), stated that the hotel has 22 rooms equipped with modern amenities to guarantee guests’ comfort.
She stated that FAAN looked forward to further partnerships in the future and that this was the start of a fantastic partnership between Sami Court and the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development.
The Sami Court Airport Hotel offers 22 standard rooms that start at N115,000.00 and include with complimentary Wi-Fi, Smart TVs, and mini-fridges.
