4th Mainland Bridge construction to start in the First Quarter of 2024 – Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos

On Thursday, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, announced that work on the eagerly anticipated Fourth Mainland Bridge would start in the first quarter of this year.

During the Lagos West Senatorial District Town Hall Meeting, which took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton, Ikeja, the governor revealed this in his keynote speech.

While pointing out that the bridge will be built gradually, Sanwo-Olu assured that tenants and landlords whose buildings are demolished in the process will receive fair compensation.

“We’ve worked on the bridge extensively. However, we are at a loss as to where to find the actual funding for a project of that nature. We’ll have to think outside the box,” he remarked.

“We should break ground to start the construction of the Fourth Mainland Bridge within this first quarter, which means that by the end of March or April,” Sanwo-Olu continued.
