A Federal High Court in Lagos has issued an order restraining the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from arresting vehicles with faded number plates. The court also prohibited the FRSC from imposing any fines or punishments on drivers for driving with faded number plates. This decision was made by Justice Akintayo Aluko while delivering judgment in a suit filed by Chinwike Chamberlain Ezebube against the FRSC. Okezie Bonaventure Ogbata, a 36-year-old Nigerian, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in connection with a transnational inheritance scam that defrauded over 400 victims, primarily elderly and vulnerable individuals, of more than $6 million.
