A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has rejected an application by Willie Maduabuchi Obiano, the immediate-past governor of Anambra state, challenging the powers of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to prosecute him. Obiano is standing trial on nine charges bordering on alleged N4bn theft. He was arraigned on January 24. The World Bank Group (WBG) has announced that it has sealed a partnership with African Development Bank (AfDB) Group.
