The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ogun State chapter, have announced the suspension of their indefinite strike which began on the 8th of April due to non-payment of 40 per cent peculiar allowance by the Dapo Abiodun-led government. Convicted Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, aka Baba Ijesha, has petitioned the Court of Appeal, Lagos Division, to overturn his conviction by a Lagos State High Court for sexual assault on a minor. On July 14, 2022, Judge Oluwatoyin Taiwo (retd.) of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sentenced Baba Ijesha to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a minor. The Central Bank of Nigeria has resumed the sales of dollars to Bureau De Change operators. The apex bank disclosed this in a circular referenced TEM/FEM/PUB/001/013 uploaded to its website on Tuesday and signed by Dr Hassan Mahmud, its Director, Trade and Exchange Department. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again announced a further reduction in the prices of both diesel and aviation fuel to N940, N980 per litre respectively. This is sequel to the earlier price reduction to N1,000 a while ago. According to the management, the price change of N940 is applicable to customers buying five million litres and above from the refinery, while the price of N970 is for customers buying one million litres and above.
