The Central Bank of Nigeria has dismissed reports that it is selling foreign exchange (FX) to bureau de change (BDC) operators at the rate of N1,001/$1.  In a post on X on Thursday, the bank described as “fake”, a circular making rounds that the apex bank announced the sale of $10,000 to BDCs at the rate of N1,001/$1. Yahaya Bello, the immediate-past Governor of Kogi State, was absent at the Federal High Court Abuja for his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over alleged money laundering offence involving N84 billion. Earlier, the court was informed by the counsel for the EFCC, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, that Bello was absent from court for his arraignment because he was being protected by someone with immunity. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Yahaya Bello, the immediate past governor of Kogi State, wanted. This was announced via a statement on its official Facebook, Thursday, through which EFCC declared Bello wanted for offences bordering on economic and financial crimes. “Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 billion,” the statement partly read. “Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the commission or the nearest police station,” the EFCC said. Sequel to knocks from different quarters over the new logo unveiled by the government of Osun state, Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered the holding of a logo crafting competition between April 19th and 26th. A Federal High Court in Kano has ordered the planned suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress and former Governor of Kano, Abdullahi Ganduje, by his ward, be stopped.
