The Central Bank of Nigeria has dismissed reports that it is selling foreign exchange (FX) to bureau de change (BDC) operators at the rate of N1,001/$1.  In a post on X on Thursday, the bank described as “fake”, a circular making rounds that the apex bank announced the sale of $10,000 to BDCs at the rate of N1,001/$1. Yahaya Bello, the immediate-past Governor of Kogi State, was absent at the Federal High Court Abuja for his arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over alleged money laundering offence involving N84 billion. Earlier, the court was informed by the counsel for the EFCC, Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, that Bello was absent from court for his arraignment because he was being protected by someone with immunity.
