Oyo State Police Command, on Thursday, confirmed the arrest of some officers for allegedly killing a Corps member, Damilola Iyanda, in Ogbomoso. They were reportedly led by Rasheed Saheed, an Inspector. Governor Seyi Makinde has authorized the regularization and integration of 129 floating staff members from the former Oyo State Agricultural Development Program into the state civil service. He said, “The reabsorbed 129 staff would henceforth enjoy their promotions and other entitlements for civil servants. Kano and Jigawa states rank ahead of others on the list of states smoking tobacco in Nigeria. This was revealed by The Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), at a one-day multi-stakeholders’ engagement on tobacco taxation in Jigawa State. 118 inmates have reportedly escaped from the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, as a result of a late Wednesday night rainfall.
