South Africa’s former president Jacob Zuma was involved in an overnight car crash after a vehicle transporting him was hit by a drunk driver, according to a statement by the Police. It was also confirmed that he survived the crash. The driver’s car “collided with former president Mr Jacob Zuma’s official armoured state vehicle”, the South African Police Service (SAPS) said. On Thursday, the Naira experienced a slight depreciation at the official market, trading at ₦1,309.39 to a dollar. Relying on data from the official trading platform of the FMDQ, it was revealed that the Naira lost ₦8.96 or 0.69 per cent, compared to the previous day’s (Wednesday) rate of ₦1,300.43 against the dollar. Total turnover, however, increased to $857.78 million on Thursday, up from $416.10 million recorded at the end of trading on Wednesday.
