The outbreak of Cholera in the southwestern state of Ogun has been confirmed by the State Government. It was revealed that the life of a 62-year-old woman has been claimed with five persons hospitalized. The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Tomi Coker, said the incident happened in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area. According to reports, a source in the community said the deceased woman contracted cholera while caring for her infected child, who is now among the hospitalized victims. The death toll resulting from the outbreak of cholera in Lagos State has risen to 24. This is more than 21 earlier reported barely 24hrs ago. Lagos State Government, in a report on Friday indicated that a total of 24 persons have lost their lives to the disease as of June 19, 2024. According to the report, a total of 417 suspected cases have been recorded. However, only 35 cases have been confirmed so far across the 20 local government council areas in the state. The Federal Government have requested for presentation of documents for verification from owners of private jets in the country.
