The 2023 Governor of the Year Award will be given to Governor Seyi Makinde today.
The Leadership Newspaper had already chosen Governor Makinde to receive its esteemed Governor of the Year Award.
This is a result of Oyo State’s excellent governance and extensive infrastructure development initiatives.
During a visit by its management to the state, the newspaper praised Governor Makinde for Oyo State’s significant advancement in economic growth.
In response, Governor Makinde pledged that the honor will motivate his administration to take on other Oyo State-related initiatives.
It was his pledge to be present in person at the Abuja award presentation.
A few weeks ago, the 12.5 kilometer Challenge-Odo Ona-Elewe-Elebu-Apata dualized road project, another of his administration’s investment in infrastructures was formally inaugurated.
He said at the commissioning that he would extend wage award payments to public employees and pensioners by a further six months. This demonstrates his steadfast dedication to the well-being of state pensioners and civil servants.
