Mr. Olumide Openaike, a staff member of a microfinance bank at Kemta Oloko, Abeokuta, has been discovered in Mokwa, Niger State. He went missing on Wednesday, January 17.
Onikolobo, Abeokuta, Temitope-based banker’s wife, who also works at a microfinance bank, informed our correspondent of the news on Thursday.
“I am happy to tell you that my husband has been found in Mokwa, Niger State,” the woman stated. Tuesday afternoon, he gave me a call.
One of the locals there gave him the phone, saying that the people who kidnapped him had already taken it. The policeman on duty who spoke with us later said he was in Mokwa. We then instructed him to file a report at the local police station.
After that, transportation funds were arranged and provided to him; he arrived in Ibadan on Wednesday and went to bed. His relatives are in Ibadan. Today, he will return to Abeokuta.
Temitope had on Sunday told our correspondent that her husband, who left home for his workplace on Wednesday, January 17, failed to come home.
The spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the event earlier in the week to our correspondent.
According to Odutola, “On Wednesday, January 17 at approximately 7 p.m., one Temitope reported the case of a missing person involving one Olumide Openaike. It is reported that he has a fair complexion.
“The state’s police formations are already aware of this, and we will continue to spread the word to provide enough publicity in the hopes of eventually locating him and bringing him back to his family.”
