Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in its ex-depot price for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to ₦815 per litre.
This adjustment follows a decrease in the landing cost of fuel to ₦774.82 per litre, which is lower than the refinery’s previous ex-depot price of ₦825 per litre.
Key Details:
- Market Competition: The price reduction is part of an ongoing price war in Nigeria’s downstream oil sector, with major players like Dangote Refinery and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) competing for market dominance.
- Industry Response: The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) confirmed the development, attributing it to market forces and the deregulated nature of the sector.
- Retail Prices: It remains uncertain whether this reduction will lead to lower pump prices at filling stations. Currently, retail prices range from ₦860 per litre in Lagos to ₦880 per litre in Abuja.
This marks the third price adjustment by Dangote Refinery in 2025, reflecting the dynamic nature of the fuel market in Nigeria.
