A 3-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford condemned Manchester United to their fourth defeat in six Premier League matches on Sunday.
After fighting back to cancel out Yankuba Minteh’s early opener via a Bruno Fernandes penalty, United went into the halftime interval with their tails up.
However, they were second best in the second half, conceding efforts from Kaoru Mitoma and substitute Georginio Rutter after Joao Pedro had seen a goal chalked off after a VAR check.
United have now lost four of their last five Premier League matches at Old Trafford, conceding 12 goals in the process.
The result has left United sitting 13th in the table, 12 points shy of the top four and 10 points ahead of the relegation places.
