Nigerian rapper Olamide has reached a major milestone, surpassing 1 billion career streams on Spotify.
This achievement makes him the first African rapper to hit this impressive mark, largely due to his incorporation of Afrobeats in his music and his various collaborations.
Additionally, Olamide made history last year as the first African rapper to be nominated for a Grammy. His collaborative track with Asake, “Amapiano,” was nominated in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category, though it ultimately lost to Tyla’s “Water.”
