In a bid to ease financial burdens and enhance festive preparations for their employees, both Borno and Kogi States have approved the early payment of December salaries and pensions to civil servants and pensioners.
In Borno State, Governor Babagana Zulum sanctioned the payment on December 13, 2024.
The Governor emphasized that this initiative reflects his administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers, which includes implementing a new minimum wage of N72,000 and modernizing the salary payment system.
Meanwhile, the Kogi State Government also announced the payment of December salaries on December 14, 2024.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, highlighted that the early disbursement aims to enable civil servants to plan and enjoy their Christmas and New Year holidays without financial stress.
Both state governments have received commendation for their proactive measures in ensuring the well-being and happiness of their employees during the festive season.
