A Canada-based Nigerian has sparked a debate by advising fellow Nigerians in the diaspora to stop sending money back home.
In a recent video, the medical doctor shared his personal experience, stating that he relocated to Canada for the betterment of his children but found the work environment to be strict and less flexible compared to Nigeria.
He argued that anyone with a stable source of income in Nigeria should reconsider sending money abroad, as it might be more beneficial to invest and grow wealth locally. The doctor emphasized that earning a salary in Nigeria can go much further than in Canada, where living costs and work hours are more demanding.
This advice has generated mixed reactions, with some agreeing that investing in Nigeria could be more impactful, while others believe that supporting family and friends back home is still essential.
