The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) announced that it has achieved a significant milestone by reaching 1.8 million barrels per day (mbpd) in crude oil production.
This accomplishment was revealed during a press briefing on Thursday, November 14, 2024.
The NNPC’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of Joint Venture and Production Sharing Contract partners, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and various security agencies. The establishment of the Production War Room Team on June 25, 2024, played a crucial role in stabilizing and boosting production outputs.
The NNPC also reported an increase in gas production, now producing 7.4 million standard cubic feet of gas to power the gas infrastructure, particularly the AKK project.
This marks an improvement from the earlier production of 6.1 million standard cubic feet earlier in the year.
