Nigeria’s electricity generation peak fell to 4,998.20 megawatts on October 6, 2024, down from 5,234.70 MW recorded last Tuesday, amidst rising energy costs.
This information is based on recent data from the National Control Centre and indicates a 236.5 MW decrease in power generation.
The drop follows the celebration by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, of a 5,105 MW peak in August 2024.
The minister also noted that 40 percent of electricity consumers in Nigeria currently experience 20 hours of uninterrupted power supply.
