President Bola Tinubu, in his broadcast for Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing current challenges while focusing on the future of the next generation.
He announced plans for a National Youth Conference, a platform for young Nigerians, who make up more than 60% of the population, to engage in shaping the nation’s policies and future.
The 30-day conference will focus on areas such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice, with young people actively involved in developing solutions. Tinubu assured that the government would take the outcomes seriously and implement recommendations.
Additionally, he highlighted other youth-centered initiatives, such as the 3 Million Technical Talents Programme (3MTT) aimed at building Nigeria’s digital talent base, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for affordable student loans, and the upcoming Renewed Hope Labour Employment and Empowerment Programme (LEEP).
