President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), following her confirmation by the Senate on 25 September 2024.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja, where Kekere-Ekun took the oath of office and signed the oath register.
She succeeds Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who retired on 22 August 2024 after reaching the retirement age.
