The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made by controversial cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, against some officers of the commission.
Bobrisky, an ex-convict, alleged in a video shared by blogger Martins Otse (known as VeryDarkMan) that certain EFCC officers collected ₦15 million from him to drop money laundering charges.
In the video, VeryDarkMan further explained that Bobrisky owes ₦4 million to an individual who supported him while he was in prison, but has since refused to repay the debt despite several promises.
In response, the EFCC has invited both Bobrisky and Otse to its Lagos Directorate to aid in the investigation.
The commission assured the public that the case will be thoroughly investigated, with findings to be made public.
Earlier in April, Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison for abusing the Nigerian currency.
