During its highly anticipated “Glowtime” event on Monday, Apple unveiled the latest iPhone 16 series, which CEO Tim Cook described as “the first iPhones designed from the ground up for Apple Intelligence and its breakthrough capabilities.”
The lineup includes four versions: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, with pre-orders opening on Friday and official release slated for September 20.
Pricing for the models starts at $799 for the iPhone 16, $899 for the iPhone 16 Plus, $999 for the iPhone 16 Pro, and $1,199 for the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
All models are powered by the new A18 chips, with the Pro models featuring an enhanced Pro version of the chip.
The display sizes for the new iPhones are as follows:
- iPhone 16: 6.1 inches
- iPhone 16 Plus: 6.7 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro: 6.3 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 6.9 inches
Apple also introduced two new buttons on the iPhone 16: the Action Button and the Camera Control button.
The Action Button allows users to perform quick functions, such as recording voice memos or opening apps, while the Camera Control button gives users instant access to the camera and lets them adjust features by sliding their finger.
In terms of AI features, Apple plans to release new capabilities in October, including a “Writing Tools” feature, which will help users rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across different apps.
