Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas has activated the Taraba State Students Identification System (TESIS), a data-capturing system aimed at obtaining an exact count of schools and students throughout the state and he also declared that the government’s free education policy is here to stay and that making sure data plays a key role is one of the program’s main goals.
Kefas called the ceremony historic and added that the identification initiative formally launches his administration’s free education program.
He emphasized that although all state children are entitled to free education, parents nevertheless have a duty to provide for their children by making themselves available as well as the teachers who are the cornerstone of the strategy and gave his word that they would be inspired to play a crucial part in education as well.
Kefas declared that parents are no longer responsible for the full cost of education and asked everyone to help the government in its endeavors by giving them the information they need to know how to make the model better.
“Parents, educators, and students in the state will greatly benefit from the program my administration has introduced,” he declared.
Earlier in her speech, Dr. Augustina Godwin, the commissioner of education, stated that the governor has demonstrated her commitment to action by seeing to it that free education becomes a reality.
She praised the caliber of architectural design that went into the construction of the new schools.
The governor’s data collection demonstration, during which he registered several kids, was one of the program’s highlights.
