Chelsea Football Club have announced the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Leicester City.
The midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Blues, which includes an additional one-year option, and will join up with his new team-mates for pre-season training.
‘It is amazing to be sitting here as a Chelsea player,’ said Dewsbury-Hall. ‘This is a club people grow up watching and hoping to one day play for, so it is a privilege to be here. I’m really excited to get going and can’t wait to show everybody what I can do.’
Dewsbury-Hall, who joined Leicester City at the age of eight, made his senior debut for the club in an FA Cup match against Brentford in January 2020. He then went on loan to Blackpool in League One, where he scored four goals in ten appearances.
During the 2020/21 season, he played on loan at Luton Town in the Championship, impressing with his skills across 40 games. His performances earned him a spot in Leicester City’s first-team squad for the subsequent season.
Dewsbury-Hall became a prominent figure in the Foxes side during the 2021/22 campaign. He made 44 appearances across all competitions and was named in the UEFA Europa Conference League Team of the Season after helping Leicester reach the semi-finals.
In the 2023/24 season, Dewsbury-Hall played 49 times, scored 12 goals, helping Leicester secure promotion to the Premier League, was named the club’s Supporters’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season, and was named in the Championship Team of the Year.
