Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin will mount the saddle as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, July 12, 2024, Oyo State Government has announced.
The State’s Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, announced on Friday that Governor Seyi Makinde will present the Staff of Office to Oba Olakulehin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland at a ceremony at Mapo Hall in Ibadan.
The statement also encouraged the people of Ibadan to practice patience.
“Our people must learn to be patient and believe an administration that has not let them down in five years,” Oyelade said.
He reiterated that insinuations and mischievous innuendos had not derailed Governor Makinde from the path of justice and fairness.
The Oyo State Government advised the people, especially those in Ibadan, to anticipate the coronation and staff presentation on July 12.
The Olubadan stool became vacant after Oba Mahood Lekan Balogun passed away on March 14, 2024.
Oba Olakulehin was named Olubadan-designate by the Ibadan kingmakers on April 12, 2024, in line with the 1957 Olubadan Chieftaincy Declaration.
