Renowned Yoruba actor Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe has publicly apologized to Nigerians for his nude beachside campaigning video for Bola Tinubu.
The actor revealed that his actions were motivated by a spiritual revelation he claimed to have received on Tinubu in a now-deleted video that he posted on his Instagram account on Monday.
In the video, Igwe credited Tinubu’s help—especially with health-related issues—for the reason he was supporting the politician.
Speaking in Yoruba, Olaiya said, “Because of things he has done for me, health-wise, and I received a revelation to pray for him at the beach, which I did.
“I knew the criticism was inevitable because I am a much-loved actor. People who didn’t expect my actions must have been shocked, wondering why I did what I did. I know the criticism would have come from Bola Tinubu’s rival parties.” he stated.
