President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Lagos State for the Eid-El-Fitr celebrations marking the end of the Islamic month of Ramadan.
He was welcomed by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos state at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport.
On Saturday, Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale had in a statement said “the President will observe the moment in prayers for Nigeria and with family”.
“The President will continue official duties during and after the Eid-el-Fitr holidays.”
In the same vein, the Federal Government has declared Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024 as holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
The information was disclosed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement on Sunday signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Aishetu Ndayako.
Muslim faithful were congratulated for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, and were also urged to imbibe and practice the virtues of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighbourliness, compassion as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
