On Monday, Sokoto State Government revealed that it would spend ₦6.7 billion on its Ramadan feeding programme.
This was disclosed by Governor Ahmad Aliyu at the flag-off of grain distribution to 18,400 orphans and the less privileged across the state.
According to the Governor, each of the 18,400 beneficiaries would receive bags of rice and millet with ₦5000 cash.
Speaking, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, thanked the state government for sustaining the culture of feeding during Ramadan.
The leader of the caliphate also assured the governor of his support in his administration’s efforts to improve the living conditions of citizens of the state.
